Allan Stewart and Stephen McKenna are men who care not just about business but community.

Since combining forces in 2005, Allan and Stephen have become leading private and corporate supporters of charitable causes both in Scotland and abroad.

In early 2007 they established the Stewart & McKenna Foundation to co-ordinate the large number of charitable projects which they now support.

The Foundation now funds projects for children around the world including Burundi, Malawi, Kenya and Moldova.

Inspired by the sight of street children in Burundi living off a rubbish dump to survive, the Stewart & McKenna Foundation established an orphanage to feed, house and educate a large number of youngsters.

In Moldova another secure home gives young women threatened with violence and enforced prostitution an opportunity to change their destiny.

After witnessing other scenes of depravation and acute poverty in Africa, Allan and Stephen have also established projects in Kenya and Malawi to help children and the most vulnerable members of the community.

In June 2007 the Stewart & McKenna Foundation helped raise more than £200,000 at a Children in Africa ball in Glasgow. Allan and Stephen donated a newly built property which contributed more than £100,000 to the total.

Allan and Stephen have also been supportive of events to highlight global warming and climate change, helping sponsor events involving former American President Bill Clinton at London’s Albert Hall and former American Vice-President Al Gore at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

In Scotland, Allan and Stephen also support a wide range of local charities and enterprises, particularly those involving young people. They are currently sponsoring promising young boxer Stephen Simmons to help him train for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

On a more personal note, Allan and Stephen have been involved with various charitable projects in conjunction with the Living Word Church Paisley.
